The following was written by a Greek fan who met Izzy in 1993.

well as i said that was the best experience of my life!
i met Izzy!!! the day before the show . i went to the hotel to give a bouquet of roses to the band on behalf of the GnR greece fan club!! in the lobby I saw Izzy...he was so cool...i introduced my self to him...he was like "wow i didnt know there is a fan club here in Greece!!!!" . i said "you 'll be surprised when u see the venue tomorrow ...we expect over 50000 fans"... so we chatted a little and when i asked him about his reunion with Gnr he said "dont expect me back in the band.....at least this time.."..i said to him that he is always a GnR member to our heart...he smiled....i couldn't believe that i was actually chatting with him...
so suddenly the bodyguards showed up...izzy said that it was ok with me...he invited me to go upstairs....but the bodyguards said no way!!!! so izzy said to me that he can call bill baily , who is axl's brother and he takes care of fans etc, and that he can give me autographs!! bill was in the lobby too...so izzy asked him if he can give me some autographs...he said " give me five min to go upstairs ..." and he went to the rooms!!! while i was waiting i gave a look to izzy...he was wearing jeans and a t-shirt(at this time - may- in greece it is 30 C!) and he was lookin like....tired... when i asked him about his life outside GnR he said "i miss the fun , the energy , the fans but....i'm more relaxed right now"!!!!..it was awasome...i have to tell u that in the hotel there was no sign of other fans!!! izzy said "it's the first time that no fans showed up in the hotel!!" and i told him the truth: the managers of the BMG(the company of GnR in Greece) said to people that GnR would stay in Hilton hotel ...but they stayed in Intercontintal hotel!!!!

i find out time to tell u the story of mine about meeting GnR!!!! well as i told u i met izzy in the hotel!!!
well at this time i got 6 autographs by each member of GnR!! axl's brother went up to the rooms and everyone( Axl too!!) signed on a piece of paper!! i keep this paper as treasure!!!
so next day was the show day!!! as i told u before , i met Axl and Matt in a club after the show!!! they were wearing the clothes the had no stage!!! i explained to u how i got near them!!!
we know that Axl isn't the best guy to come near , but back these days he was so relaxed!!!! when he gave me an autograph (do u know that an autograph of Axl by his own hand is evaluated 100$??!!) i said "thanx axl, ......why u didn't play the song crash diet??"
he looked sp surprised!!! he said " how the fuck u know this song???"... i replied "i have it on a tape!!!" he was like "i didnt know that these bootleg tapes can be found here!!!"...i said " i know things u 'll be surprised to hear!!"...he looked at me saying nothing..
i continued " i know about your friend Todd Crew who died in 1988 over an overdose...i was really sorry ....u dedicated "knockin on heaven's door" to him in a gig in felt forum in 1998!" Man he lost it!!! "u know about Todd???" ...i said " yes..." he looked so serious at this point...! i was afraid that i said something wrong!!! he smiled and said ..."well , greece is full of surprises for me!!" .. i didn't have time to ask what he meant cause the bodyguards was like "ok that's enough!!!..you may go now!!" and we left the place
all this time Matt was just staring at Claudia Schiffer !!!!!! saying "wow...wow!!!" it was the best!!!!
next morning i went down to their hotel again at 8:00 in the mornning...i went in...i heard that Gnr might go on a daily cruise to the greek islands!! so i went to the lobby and .......slash was on the bar drinking jack daniels!!!!!! he was looking....waste!!!
as i heard noone slept the night!! i tried to reach slash but his guard saw me and said that i can't talk to him!!
so i stayed about 10 metres from him!!! i noticed that the band crew was up and down the rooms gathering some staff ...
anyway , i thought what the fuck let's try to get slash 's attention!! so i yell " heyyy slash...great fuckin gig last night!!!!
he turned around ,,saw him and...smiled!!!! i try to get near him but the guard went on to my way....so slash gave him a sign with his hand and he left me!!! i went next ot slash introducing myself as the head of the greece fan club of guns n roses!!! he said that he gave an autograph with the other guys the day before!! i said that i was the one I got it!!! he smiled again then someone told him to hurry up cause they were leaving for the cruise....and i heard that noone could persuade axl to get up from his bed!!!
as i saw on MTV three days after...they all went to the cruise and had lot of fun exept ..Axl!!!
well my friend that was it....the best three days of my life!!!!
